Recreation and Events
Recreational activities in the Deep River Area are plentiful and diverse. The area’s natural surroundings present opportunities for great boating, hiking, canoeing, camping, mountain biking, fishing and hunting in the shoulder and summer seasons. There is a hugely active cross-country skiing presence in the winter, along with snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Municipal Recreation Departments provide a wide variety of programs on a year round basis. There are approximately 100 clubs in the area that provide an array of both competitive and non-competitive opportunities. The area is culturally rich, with a very successful Symphony Orchestra, and numerous drama and music clubs. The Deep Players and Deep River Musical Society provide consistently high quality productions, and a group called THEOP brings quality professional entertainment to the community on a regular basis. The artistic community is active, talented, and diverse. Club Overview
